This personally guided tour explores two of my favourite local destinations in one scenic 4WD SUV eco-tour. You will be travelling in our sensational new Range Rover so come with me and discover the beauty, diversity and hospitality of our Hunter Valley and Blue Mountains regions.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1) Sydney to the Hunter Valley and Barrington Tops:

  • north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Hunter
  • breakfast at the historic Hunter River port of Morpeth
  • we follow the Allyn River into the Barrington Tops area
  • Bar-B-Que lunch in a sub-tropical rainforest
  • walk through a World Heritage Antarctic Beech forest
  • stay overnight award winning Salisbury Lodges
  • see and touch friendly Aussie native Animals!

Day 2) Barrington to Hunter Winecountry:

  • take a walk or swim in the crystal clear Williams River
  • after lunch we explore scenic Barrington 4WD trails
  • we travel across the Hunter Valley into Wine Country
  • an evening at wonderful Bimbadeen Mountain Retreat

Day 3) Winecountry to Blue Mountains:

  • we sample some of the Hunter’s best wines:
  • McWilliams
  • Lindemans
  • Rosemount
  • lunch at the historic sanstone village of Wollombi
  • small boutique vineyards, hidden off the beaten track
  • scenic sandstone trails into the Blue Mountains
  • 2 nights at Katoomba’s famous ‘Carrington Hotel

Day 4) Blue Mountains sights - a number of options:

  • Pan for Gold at historic Hill End!
  • visit the unique limestone caves at Jenolan
  • Visit ‘Hatter’s Hideout’, a privately owned cave on the edge of a scenic wonderland...
  • returning for afternoon tea at the ‘Carrington

Day 5):Blue Mountains to Sydney: more options...

  • a morning walk through the Grand Canyon: a steep three hour walk through the famous canyon below Blackheath. You will need to be fit for this one but it is a great way to get ‘close and personal’ to the real Blue Mountains...
  • ride Katoomba’s historic ‘Mountain Devil’ or into the World Heritage Listed rainforests of the Jamison Valley floor. After an interesting walk along an instructive boardwalk, we rise from the forest on a cable car to view the splendid Three Sisters, Ruin Castle, Orphin Rock and Mount Solitary.
  • Leaving Katoomba at sundown, we’ll have you back in Sydney one and a half hours later.
