From Sydney, we travel north across the magnificent Hawkesbury River to enjoy views and refreshments from a spectacular rock lookout before continuing to the historic Hunter River port of Morpeth. In 1830, you could arrive in Morpeth by sailing ship directly from London!
After breakfast and a stroll through the town, we pass through the tiny villages of Paterson, Woodville and Largs before following the Rosebrook Range to the Lower Hunter vineyards. Passing through Pokolbin, we sample several popular and boutique wineries before heading west over Mt View to Millfield and Wollombi, home of Dr Jurd’s infamous ‘Jungle Juice’.
At neaby Judsons at Laguna, our cook Di prepares our gourmet lunch at her wonderful establishment.
After a relaxing interlude, we may head west to explore Yengo National Park with it’s intriguing aboriginal relics or visit some local boutique wineries before departing to Sydney via tracks through the Watagan Mountains.
