Wollombi region extended 4WD eco-tour....
From Sydney, we travel the historic Convict Trail, passing through the quaint sandstone villages of Wiseman’s Ferry, St Albans, Laguna and Wollombi, the home of Dr Jurd’s infamous ‘Jungle Juice’.
At Wisemans, we enjoy an excellent Champagne breakfast prepared by our Swiss Chef, overlooking the Hawkesbury River.
After taking a short walk along the Convict built Great North Road of 1831, we continue along the Trail to historic St Albans, famous for it’s old colonial inn. Here, we search for the hidden courtship bower of Australia’s unique Satin Bower Bird. After St Albans, we travel north to Laguna where chef, Di Judson prepares our gourmet lunch at her wonderful establishment, Judsons at Laguna.
After taking a trail west to Finchley Trig in the Yengo National Park, we visit Undercliff Winery before exploring the village of Wollombi for a beer or three at the Tavern and perhaps sampling the infamous Dr Jurd’s jungle Juice!
We arrive at Wild Edge Retreat before sundown so you can prepare yourself for a relaxing evening in or perhaps you may wish to kick up your heels at the Wollombi Tavern or maybe take a night spotlight 4WD track through a nearby rainforest.
The following day and after a great breakfast, we explore some more local boutique wineries before departing for Sydney via some of my special Watagan Mountain trails.
